Conscia Jazz present

CJF17: Theo Jackson

Saturday 2nd September, 12.30noon

Performing on the Main Stage of the Conscia Jazz Festival 2017 on Saturday at 12.30pm will be Theo Jackson!

Critics have compared Jackson’s songwriting to artists as diverse as Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder and Nick Drake, and awarded “Shoeless and the Girl” 4 and 5 star reviews. None other than jazz legend Wayne Shorter personally approved Jackson’s original lyrics to be set to two Shorter tunes.

His soulful style has seen him appear at world-famous venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, The Kennedy Centre (USA), The Southbank Centre, JazzAhead (Germany), Ronnie Scott’s and many more.

A prolific songwriter Jackson writes from the heart, finding inspiration everywhere – from the tale of a homeless man who is befriended by a little girl proving that no-one is ever really alone, to that of a lonely giant tortoise called Lonesome George. With a distinctive voice, the songs are drawn from the imagination of a natural storyteller and have an ethereal, other-worldly quality while being grounded in reality.

Jackson has sold out festival stages and venues in the UK, US, Germany and New Zealand. This afternoon he will be providing a solo set comprised of original tunes and heartfelt renditions of great standards.
