The Quarry Theatre & Bedford Film Festival Presents

The Wicker Man: The Final Cut Experience

Tuesday 6th November, 8:00pm

A police sergeant is sent to a Scottish island village in search of a missing girl whom the townsfolk claim never existed. Stranger still are the rituals that take place there.

Four decades after its release in cinemas in 1973, the unique British cult classic The Wicker Man still holds an enduring fascination for audiences all over the world.

Never before, seen in UK cinemas ‘The Final Cut’ is the finest and most complete version of The Wicker Man; approved by director Robin Hardy himself.

This Halloween, experience this cult film as you never have before…

Get in the mood with folk trio ‘Marisa, Jack & Davy’ in the bar for live music including some songs from the film. Expect traditional songs inspired by the pagan island of Summerisle with themes that depict the island’s community such as the pastoral landscape, sex and creation, isolation, and resurrection.

Joining the festivities, The Red Cuthbert Morris Dancers will be performing a mixture of traditional dances in a pre-show outdoor display.

“The Wicker Man is, more than anything else, a film about what people can do in the name of religion or, more generally, belief. Its power comes not from appeals to the supernatural but from a deep understanding of our own undeniable nature. Horror doesn’t get much closer to home than that.” ★★★★ EMPIRE

“a movie that’ll burn its way into your unconscious and give you nightmares for many years to come..” BBC FILM
